Antimony was build as part of my Senior Collaborative Games Project module during my final year of university. Built as part of a 14 man team in which I was the only designer/scripter. This posed many challenges as other members contributed ideas for mechanics and I had to implement them all solo. Some of the additional mechanics such as the zero gravity seemed daunting at first but in practise they proved to be rather easy to implement.
One of the main challenges when building Antimony was taking it from its prototype phase into a more complete project. Tightening up the overall user experience and ensuring that everything works smoothly. The ui and main menu underwent several revisions as we moved closer to the end of development as once the 3d art assets started coming in I had a better idea of the style the artists were aiming for. This project taught me a lot about communication within a team and how handling a senior role effects game development. All in all Antimony didn't turn out how I had hoped mainly due to having the initial vision changed at its core from the original vision presented back at the start of the project. This evolution has, to me not been for the better but I am still proud of the quality of my work overall.
